We are a TEAM
|
In Pediatrics, therapists manage their own clientele; however, we share ideas, opinions and professional knowledge to provide a cohesive, holistic therapeutic approach to help with your child’s progress. We provide services for children through private pay, CPSE and CSE services. We work with the Board of Education of the City of New York to provide mandated services.
We also provide physical therapy to adults in Pain Management, Neurological, Orthopedic, and Sports Medicine cases. |
TESTIMONIALS |
My son is 4 ½ years old and has been working with Jane Weedon, PT from WorkSpace for about a year. Jane is wonderful – highly professional and diligent and makes the most of each lesson. She always finds a way to keep a child interested and focused for the whole session, achieving her goals and keeping the child happy at the same time. Ben loves going to WorkSpace and I attribute a large degree of his progress to her skills and experience – her sessions make him want to try out and keep practicing his new skills outside of her gym all the time.
R.N. – Pediatrician, MD I can second this wonderful recommendation for Jane. She has been working with my son since 2011 and he has made incredible progress with her. (He has gross motor delays.) She has a gentle but firm approach toward targeting even the smallest muscle groups, and she explains everything as she goes so you know what's going on in your child's body. She has a creative way of approaching PT-as-play, and she's calm, informed, and just a great person to be around. Her gym is really lovely, too. We don't know what we would have done without her.
M. G. I want to give the group a resounding recommendation for Physical Therapist, Jane Weedon, who has been seeing my son who has complex pt/ot/speech issues, for nearly 4 years.
Jane uses an integrative, holistic approach, utilizing her deeper understanding of PT, OT, speech, attention, motor planning, and sensory issues, including identifying some previously unrecognized neurological concerns with my son. Having worked with other pediatric PTs, I can attest that Jane’s holistic insight into the whole child is very unusual in a physical therapist. With her, my son has made excellent gains in his motor and sensory skills, from having difficulty running half a block without falling, to being able to run with confidence and ride a bike. Jane’s office, called Work Space, is on Prospect Park West and 17th Street (F/G trains, B-61 bus). Sessions are always one-on-one, and she does a great job keeping kids engaged, and has been responsive to consulting/collaborating with other providers. She also sees adults and practices Thai Yoga Massage. I am not affiliated with Jane’s business, just an appreciative client. C.S. – Social Worker Jane is simply a fantastic physical therapist! I am a very active 36 year old man with a busy job and I enjoy playing tennis at a high level. I have had chronic left sided back, shoulder and neck pain for 10 years and I have tried many things to relieve it unsuccessfully. I believed in the last couple years there would not be much to do and I would just have to live with this discomfort. From my first appointment with Jane it became clear that not only would she help alleviate the current discomfort but she would work with me to develop the muscle strength and stability to reverse the process causing this chronic pain. Despite spending a large portion of her time working with children, Jane transitions easily to working with adults. The manual techniques, including massage, strength exercises and energy work employed by Jane have all significantly reduced the amount of chronic pain I have. I never thought I would be able to decrease this chronic condition, and now there are days where I do not feel it at all. Jane also takes a very detailed and personal approach to my physical therapy by learning about the positions in my home, work or tennis activities that cause me discomfort. It is this one on one interaction that has been critical to the improvement in my symptoms that is impossible to find at other large "factory like" physical therapy centers. Jane is a kind, patient, knowledgable and extremely skilled physical therapist that I highly recommend.
